Cannot paste text from Microsoft Publisher

I cannot copy and paste text from Microsoft Publisher 2000. Even individual
characters selected in a story in Publisher. I can hit the copy button in
Publisher, then switch to Contribute and try to paste in a page I'm editing,
but nothing happens. I know the text is on the clipboard since I can paste into
Notepad, or even into a textbox within a dialog box in Contribute (for example,
after hitting copy in Publisher, switch to Contribute, go to FILE | OPEN, I can
paste into the file name box, but then when I paste in the document I'm
editing, nothing happens). I can copy and paste text from Word and Excel OK.
This has happened on a Windows 2000 and XP system. I don't have any systems
where it has worked! This is a big problem for us, since much of our web page
updating involved this. We may not be able to purchase the product because of
this. Thank you.

Hmmm - yep, I see the same thing (Win2000, Publisher 2000 SP-3). How about doing a 'create web site from current publication' from publisher first? Then it'll all be in html.

Thanks. Its good to see I'm not the only one. Saving the publisher file as a
web page is not really how we want things to work. The publisher document is
meant as a printed newsletter. It's not designed to be a web page. I have to
copy articles out of it every month for the web site.

Do you there is any chance Macromedia will fix this bug any time soon?

Try inserting Publisher and PowerPoint files as Flash Paper. I bet that
will work and maintain your formatting. From the menu choose
Insert/Documet as Flash Paper.
