Cannot Print From Mac OS 9.22 Illustrator

I have the same problem, same computer, Illustrator version and Mac OS. Using a HP laserjet 4000 printer. I have found information on the HP site, but have not had success eliminating the problem with the 79.00FE Printer Error. Has anyone been able to correct this problem?

I have a printing problem with Illustrator 10 on OS 9.2--but just recently. I try to print a file to a legal size page set up and it always defaults to letter size and reduces the size of the image to fit. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I am really frustrated!
