Default Cannot update AcroPro v7.0 to 7.07 or 7.08

Acrobat Pro version 7 was recently installed on my Mac OSX v10.39. I went to update to Acrobat 7.07 (and eventually 7.08), but am unable to do so. I run the AcroProUpdater 7.07 and select version 7.0 in the folder on my system, but get the message "The selected application version is outside the range that can be updated with this installer." Is there an earlier update? I can't seem to locate anything earlier than the 7.07.

    Thanks. Sandra

You need to update to 7.0.5 first.

    Squence is:

    7.0
    7.0.1
    7.0.2
    7.0.3

    7.0.5
    7.0.6
    7.0.7
    7.0.8

Adobe reqires you to update to each next version. You "cannot" under any circuntances "skip" except for the 7.0.5 update. The 7.0.5 update won't work without having updgraded to 7.0.3.

Unlike Apple's OS you can actually skip because each up date has all the changes ever created before. Adobe doesn't do it that way.

The 7.0.5 update won't work without having updgraded to 7.0.3.

    That's not correct. You can go from 7.0.0 to 7.0.5. followed by 7.0.7 and 7.0.8. There isn't a 7.0.6.

Well I tried to install 7.05 and it looked for the 7.0.3 update and until I updated to .03 It wouldn't let me update. In that case it downloaded the standalone updater which created a completely new folder in Application folder

I don't download updaters as standalone applications. I always use the the update section within acrobat. I've found less problems that way.

and as for 06 you're right, it was a security and font update instead.

    Mark is correct. I've used that sequence when reinstalling: 7.0 -> 7.0.5 -> 7.0.7 -> 7.0.8

Thanks for your help. I was having some problems finding the Professional updates, but have since located and updated with the reinstall sequence suggested.
By the way, I really appreciate the forum sites and those who take the time to answer even the simplest of questions. They're such a great resource for information. Thanks!
