Canon i860 causes FH to quit unexpectedly

My new Canon i860 printer causes FH 10 and FHMX to quit unexpectedly as soon as I push the print button. The print goes through fine but I have to restart every time I make a print. Printing from other programs works fine.

I'm on OS 10.2.8, using a PowerBook G4.

Any ideas? I'm also researching this with Canon.

Having the EXACT same problem with Canon i9100. Have gotten nowhere so far in trying to get the issue resolved.

The same thing has beeen happening to me with i850.
MM Tech Support was not helpful, unfortunately. Nice & professional, but did not solve problem.

I think I managed to get the problem solved with the help of someone from Macromedia tech support. He suggested I download the updater FreeHand MX version 11.0.1. It apparently has new printer descriptions and the i860 at least is covered.

Fair warning: Go to the updaters page listed below and scroll down to the arrow. When you download the updater, it looks like you're being asked to buy the upgrade. If you follow through the steps, though, it should give you the updater for $0.00.

Getting the printer to work has cost me way more in lost time than the price of the printer. All other programs printed on the Canon without problems. It seems like maybe Macromedia and Canon need to work together to make sure the Canon installation software works with FreeHand.
