can't access certain fonts/teach yourself book suggestions
I posted the following message on the Adobe CS forum:
Why can I access certain fonts in my other software, i.e., Word, PageMaker, etc. but cannot access them in Creative Suites? For example, I can use Algerian bold in all of my other programs but cannot access bold in InDesign or any other CS programs?
Someone responded that: "Because there's no bold version of the font installed. PM, Word and some others will allow you to use a faux bold. That's a real bad thing in a high end workflow."
I've searched the Internet and cannot find a bold Algerian font. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could possibly make this font appear bold since I am trying to map over a layout I had set up in PageMaker and at this point cannot duplicate it.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions for a teach yourself book since I am brand new to InDesign. Thanks.

I gave you the answer in the other thread. Add a very think stroke to
the text.
And again. This isn't something I would encourage you to do.
