Default Can't access scanned photos in Elements

I have just bought an iMac OS X 10.2 and am really flummoxed about how to access the photos I scanned with my Epson Perfection 1650 in PS E1. Is it because the scanner was installed on Mac OS X and PSE had to go onto the Classic hard drive?
Someone at Mac advised me to open the scanner using Image Capture but I can't seem to export the files into PSE ? I'm SO bewildered.

Default Re: Can't access scanned photos in Elements

Hi, Denny. Do you mean you can't figure out to open them in PE 2, or are you trying to open them with another application? PE 1 does not run in X, just in classic or os 9. However, if you saved the photos in a standard format like tiff or jpg, you should be able to open them with several other applications, like preview, appleworks, and so on.

If you mean you want to work on them in Elements, you either need to go into classic to use PE 1, or get PE 2, which runs natively in X. You can usually find it for about $30 or less if you have a registered copy of PE 1.

EDIT If you mean you want to work on the scans in PE 1, just start classic, launch it and then use file>open to get the photos into PE.

Or find one of the scans, click once on the icon to highlight it, and press command + i, to do a get info. Choose "Open with application" from the pull-down menu, and then select PE 1 and "change all." From then on, double-clicking a scanned photo will open it in PE 1.
