Can't change Distiller settings when Printing PDF files

Hi,
I'm using Acrobat Standard 7.01 on my G4 dual 867Mhz mac runniing OS 10.3.8.
In several apps (Canvas, Ready-Set-Go, Photoshop) I use Adobe PDF Printer.

No matter what settings I set in Distiller (Standard, High Quality, etc), the PDF printer distills the same file size.

I do not get a PDF Options menu when using the Print dialogue boxes in my apps. I may have gotton one when I first tried Acrobat a couple of months ago.

I have repaired permissions, but no effect. I do not have Acrobat 6.

Is this fixable? I need to create many Custom PDF files soon. Is Adobe planning an update to fix this?

Well - it seems your invisible PDF-Options selection is pinning-down
your PDF creation options.

You could generate a postscript file and drop into Distiller - otherwise
remove the Adobe-PDF printer and then in the PRINTER SETUP UTILITY hold
the ALT key down when ADDING PRINTER ... you should then be able to
re-select Adobe-PDF ....

I tried that, but no luck.
I also removed the PDF driver and let Acrobat repair, ie replace. Still no luck.

I can create a PS file in RSG, but not in Canvas, and go that route

Yes, I found it. I can save as an epsf file.
