Can't finish previewing

I am using Illustrator 10.0.3 using Panther and get the following error message when using the zooming functions

"Can't finish previewing "

is anyone experiencing this problem !

Memory is probably running too low.

I have had luck with changing programs back and forth and then resaving AI file.

Or

Quit other programs and resave

Or

Quit programs and restart.

it seems like you can never have a super computer or enough RAM, my user is using a dual processor G5 with a 1.5 GB OF RAM , 120 GB HD , how much more RAM these Adobe products need ?

This must be an extremely complex file with a many, many paths.

I experience this with very complex AutoCAD files.

truetype fonts can cause this...sub for ps fonts and the problem should go away.

That makes sense the cad files use true type fonts. Thanks good to know!
