Default Cant fix "Reading font" error

    Greg,

    1) Do a system-wide search for adobe*fnt.LST files on your machine and
delete all you find (There can be many of them!) - They will be rebuilt
    automatically as required.

    2) Details on deleting the preference file can be found in the FAQ at the
top of this forum's Topic List.

Default Re: Cant fix "Reading font" error

I had some strange and quirky things with AI CS intially. I had more than 1000 fonts installed and when I streamlined back to about 400, my troubles went away. Constant pref corruption and freezes during the "reading fonts" occured all the time. Good luck!

Default Cant fix "Reading font" error

    Greg,

Open Windows Explorer, click on Search. In the 'Look in' drop-down select
'Local Harddrives' and type in "adobefnt*.LST" (without the quotes) into the
    search box.

Delete all that the search finds.

Until confronted with dramatic evidence to the contrary, I shall continue to believe Len is a 'dude.'

Until confronted with evidence one way or the other, I shall continue to assume Greg is genderless.

(I'm a 'dude,' by the way.)
