Can't install ColdFusion 7

    Default Can't install ColdFusion 7

I've downloaded CF7 two times, thinking perhaps the first time the file was
    corrupt.

InstallAnywhere hangs at unpacking. The error message is "please select
another location to extract the installer to." I've created many different temp
files, but none satisfy this error message.

    Note that I run XPMediaCenter.

    Help!

I have a godzillion bytes left on my hard drive (I started off with 400 gigs)
and after dowloading CF two times, believe that it is not corrupted, although
could download it for a 3rd time to prove the case.

I need help from Macromedia (anyone home?) as well as the company that
creates the installation software (left a msg with them earlier). This might
have something to do with security issues, although I'm able to install other
downloadable software without a problem. I searched the archives here and
discovered that there are a few installation problems, but the answers didn't
address my system - WinXPMedia edition 2002. sigh.

    Karen,

As Stressed_Simon mentioned that error is one indication of a corrupted
download file. I experienced the same problem myselft. The file size alone
does not guarantee that the downloaded file is not corrupted. You need to
verify the checksum of the file with an md5 tool. The checksums should be
posted right on the download page:

Wow - I'll check on that this evening. That said, I'm not sure I want to go thru another download. Does this software come on disk?

    Karen,

I just checked the "CD" link but it says they no longer offer a CD version.

I did see a post by a MM rep in on one of the threads, telling a poster
(having similar problems with the download) to email him for an FTP link that
should provide a "good" download file. If I can find the thread I'll post it
here. Or you could always email customer service and ask them for an FTP link.
