Can't Open FH 11.0 files
This is so frustrating!
I am running OS X 10.3.4 with FH MX 11.0.2 build 92 and I'm trying to open
files I know are freehand but aren't recognized as such.
These are "Unix executable files" and even when I change the "open with"
setting in "get info" freehand won't open them. Using BBEdit to open them gives
me a top line with the file name, etc, and "FreeHand11(

What happens when you use OPEN in the menu bar of Freehand and
navigate to the file to open it within Freehand?

Re: Can't Open FH 11.0 files
File>Open sees a dimmed, unclickable icon. When I do a "get info" and assign
the file to open w/ Freehand ( Not a recommended choice!) Freehand will open
but no file opens. I am afraid of converting all my "UNIX Executable Files" to
Freehand files, somehow.
Here, I'll attach the file, sorry no links though.

Did you create the files locally or were they sent by email? Any chance they
became damaged in transit?

Re: Can't Open FH 11.0 files
It came as a zip file. The graphic image file were fine.
Could it be something to do with my OS?
These files came with no extension, as far as I can tell checking the info.
What is the proper extension for a FH 11.0 file?
Anybody look at the file I sent? Please?

Re: Can't Open FH 11.0 files
The filename extension for Freehand MX is .fh11
Attachments are not possible on the forum. You can send me a file
if you want me to try and open it.

Re: Can't Open FH 11.0 files
That did it!
I put ".fh11" on the file name and -Boom- the icon changed and FreeHand
recognized it!
Thanks for all your help.
I wonder why the file got so confused in the first place, though.
Thanks all,
David
