Can't open InDesign
I have an Adobe download file: AWEXFiles.txt that is hung. I can Force Quit but when I try to open InDesign the download window opens and the beachball rolls - it will not cancel - Force Quit is all.
As I cannot get into InDesign I cannot block the Adobe download by stopping all downloads.
It's chicken n egg - Catch 22 - whatever, but I cannot use InDesign.
This happened a long time ago and I somehow cleared this block - which I had forgotten about, and how I cleared it - and like a fool I checked the download box tonight to become active and got this download which never finishes.
The full copy of it is:
Downloading: file 1 of 2
File:AWEXfiles.txt
To: Macintosh HD: Library: App...ion Support:Adobe:Web:

Re: Can't open InDesign
Disconnect your computer from the Internet. Start InDesign. When it times out trying to download, switch off downloading.

Re: Can't open InDesign
Disconnect your computer from the Internet.
Be sure to pull the cord from the back of the computer. Leaving the cord in the back of the computer and disconnecting from the router will not work.

Yeah I discovered that the hard way if you have the cable plugged in the computer, the computer still thinks its connected to the interweb thingy

Hi Buko,
I didn't disconnect from the net via the cable I just selected "Disconnect" from the net drop down window then opened up Adobe and selected "Never Connect".
But what is this AWEXfiles? Why should it always be waiting for me when I'm Adobe connected.
It means that I can never get any update info unless I go and search for it on the Adobe site.
Cheers
