Can't Open Layers Palette or Symbols Palette
My layers palette and Symbols pallette will not open upon choosing Windows>layers or Windows>symbols. All other palettes open from the
windows drop down menu. I have Windows xp-home, Dell Dimension 8250. 512MB ram with 98% free memory when using illustrator. 110 gigabytes of space left on hard drive. Illustrator version is #10.

Mervin,
Have you changed screen rez recently or switched from a twin monitor display
to a single monitor? If so, your palettes could be off screen.
Deleting your aiprefs file (details in the FAQ at the top of this forum's
Topic List) should clear that up.
