Can't paste into photoshop

I am having problems when trying to paste into photoshop 7.

I am running windows 2000 server and am needing to take a screen grab. However I am unable to paste this grab directly into photoshop. At present I am pasting it into Paint and then copying it from there and pasting it into Photoshop. This is time consuming and I know I have done it directly before but im just not shure how to change it.

after prntscreen you do file> new, press enter to accept the sizes, then edit> paste?

Explain? I can paste it into paint and then into photoshop but not directly into photoshop

I have just got a new graphics card and the problem remains :(

Oh no that has made it worse!!!

I was able for a bit to paste in screen shots of windows using alt Printscreen, now not even that works!!!

are you sure you ran the right registry? one is on and one is for off.
