Can't Place .doc Files - Why, oh, why?!?
I have IDCS, and I cant seem to open doc files. When I want to place them, it says: "Cannot Place This File. No Filter Found For Requested Operation." And it wont open only the files in this one folder. It normally places all the other doc files in other folders... I searched the forums, but call me a moron, I couldn't find a solution.
In Expectation,
Roko Rumora.

Re: Can't Place .doc Files - Why, oh, why?!?
Could be it's too old. I forget the cut-off, but IDCS can only import fairly recent Word formats.
Do you have Word? Try opening it and resaving as RTF. ID can import RTF of any vintage.

InDesign 2 and CS can place Word 98 and later. If earlier, do as Dave suggests.

Oops, Windows forum. I think for Windows it's Word 97 or later. No so sure about that.
