can't S A V E !!!! Ahhhh!
have my document open and tried all sorts of stuff, outlineing all fonts, relinking images, checking and rechecking everthing... I think it has something to do with the "pdf compadible file" thing, when you save. When i save without it it does fine, but i need this function for the print house. Here is the message i get when trying to save:
- An unknown error has occurred
THEN:
- Cant save preview, but all other information was saved successfully. The file couldn't be found.
ID = -43
But the file was never saved! it dosent show up anywhere! Anyone know how to fix this?
Ive tried to export as older versions-(no go). the only thing that works is saving as eps. and i shouldn't have to do that everytime.
anyone?

Re: can't S A V E !!!! Ahhhh!
Really you have problems.
In this case the problem is a corrupt file.
You can Generate .ps next the new PDF file, If is not posible, or error continue. Nothing can do.

Oh wait there are some conflicts that might affect this such as SpellCatcher needs updating, turning off FontSync in the AI preferences for Suitcase, mismatched RAM, Norton AntiVirus. Check them out.

Have you tried checking for stray points or empty text paths? If there are stray points or text paths out in the netherlands of the file, it will cause Illustrator to try and create a huge bitmap for the preview, and that can cause it to choke. Go to Object > Path > Cleanup to run the command.

Do you have any Guides in the file? Try Clear Guides from the View menu.
