Can't save illustration

I just installed Illustrator 10. I opened a pdf file from someone else that was also created in Illustrator (probably 10) and edited it. Then when I tried to save or save as, I get the "can't save illustration" error when trying to save as ".pdf" or ".ai". Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

Usually a corrupt font causes this problem.
First try "saving as" a new file name.

Alternatively copy and paste the elements into a new file saving as you go until you find out the problem element/text.

.... or you might be runing out of memory. it has sometimes happened to me when working for long time with ps and illy at the same time. it gives this error and you cant "save as" to diferet file as well.

solution is to increas your virtual memory.

You also might try saving in a previous version.
