Can't send for review
I've been having an issue in contribute CS3 where I select send for review and
it will only let me send for review through email and will not let me send the
draft to another Contribute user. If anyone has a solution to this problem
please let me know. I have contribute 3 on another computer and the send for
review function seems to work fine on that.

Re: Can't send for review
I have a web author who is experiencing the same difficulty. Did you get an answer? We have more than 30 people using Contribute CS3 or Contribute 4 and she is the only one with the problem.

Re: Can't send for review
We had the same problem until we gave the users read/modify access to _mm and
MMWIP at the root level. Contribute saves some temp files there when sending
for review.
Now it works. Sort of. Every once in a while a page sent for review just
doesn't go, although no errors are thrown. But for the most part, opening
access to those folders worked for us.

Re: Can't send for review
I am having the same issue. I have Cont 3 as the admin. But I purchased a
licence of 10 CS3's The first one up and running can only send the review
request via email, and I do not get anything in my draft console. The problem
is that I don't have, or know where to find, the _mm and MMWIP at the root
level. Where will I find them? Or is there an alternative?
Thanks,
Digi

Re: Can't send for review
I found the _mm file, though not the mmwip. I found them in the directory she
has permission to modify on our server. So, I can go get the file that is
within the _mm if I want, and overwrite the original file, but that obviously
is not the long term solution to this.

Re: Can't send for review
So I contacted Adobe technical support about this issue and here is what they
said:
Text[Q]I understand that there is an issue with your Contribute CS3 on
Windows
Vista. You stated that whenever you use the ?Send for Review? feature,
itonly allows you to send the review via email and does not allow you send
to other Contribute Users.
Several factors may cause the trouble in sending drafts for review. Here
are basic troubleshooting steps:
1. Create a blank new page and send this for review to test if this is
consistent or isolated to one file.
2. Try to change owners for a draft or remove the drafts in the list.
3. Remove the following files in the server that are related to the
drafts:NOTE: You will need to use another application to remove the files> [filename].html.lck (lock file for the file you are editing)
> MMWIP folder (same directory as filename.html)
> All files in '_mm\ct3beta\WIPMetaData' folder
> User folders in _mm\ct3beta\messaging\users
above.
If the above the solution doesn?t work, kindly follow the next steps
1. Close Contribute
2. Go to Windows Start > Run and type ?regedit? without the quotes.
3. Delete the key HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-[random_group_of_numbers]\Software
\Macromedia\Contribute 3
If the trouble persists, Contribute may be encountering conflicts while
sending the drafts and its other files. Please enable the ?netlog?
feature by
following these instructions:
Use network I/O logging to log operations and identify problems
http://www.adobe.com/go/19506
You may send the log file to us by upload the log file to the following
FTP location.
FTP: ftp://ftp-sj.adobe.com/
Username: adobe-support-ul
Password: welcome
Go to the NA folder and upload the log file using the filename:
Net_IO_log_172679255[/Q]
I did everything they suggested up to the I/O logging and nothing seemed to
help. But just a few days ago I tested contribute just to see if it worked and
it did.
I'm not sure if it was something in the instructions they gave me and I just
needed t o reboot my computer a few times, or if there was an update they sent
out that I was unaware of, but the "send for review" function seems to function
properly for me now.

Re: Can't send for review
My company had purchased Contribute 3.
We then downloaded the trial version of Contribute CS3 version 4 but now i am
unable to send my drafts for review through the draft review process and the
email review process.
Also when i try to send my drafts through email review the administrator is
unable to see the draft in the draft console, the page is only able to be
viewed through the temporary link.
Is this due to that fact that i am now using the trial version of CS3 and
what can i do to choose the draft review process for sending my drafts for
review

Re: Can't send for review
Here is what finally resolved it for me. I had Contribute 3 on my machine. I
purchased a license for 10 Contribute CS 3s to give to content providers at my
college. When installed they could not send to my draft console of the old
Contribute 3. I decided to upgrade my version to CS3 as well and that solved
my problem. Now all the people who have CS3 and the older 3 are able to send
drafts to my Contribute CS3.
I was going to do the steps that are listed above and I appreciate Slaiby for
posting them. Luckily I didn't have to.
Hope this helps.
