cast from datetime type to smalldatetime type - Microsoft SQL / MS SQL Server

Hi, How can I cast from datetime type to smalldatetime type. I get the records from a table which has got a datetime type column but I want to display it smalldatetime format. Thanks, Salim...

    "CAST(Start_Date as SMALLDATETIME) does not make that I want.I just want to
    display day,month and year not hour or minute with this format dd/mm/yyyy.

    select convert (varchar, MyCol, 101)
    from MyTable
