Default CD done w/Director 7 doesn't work properly in W XP

I have a CD done with Director 7 for (at that time) Windows 98, when played
in Windows XP the sound does not play correctly; do I have to compile it and
if so how do I do it? Is there any upgrade to do that or do I have to
purchase the whole new Director? At the present time I'm overseas where to
get any Macromedia product or assistance is a hassle.

    Thanks for any help.

Hi we had a similar problem with a CD which we developed for Windows
98/2000. Sound failed on some parts of the CD-ROM on windows XP only. We
identified that this was somehow related to machines using newer on-board
audio cards. ie, where the sound card is an integrated part of the
motherboard. In the end we removed some spot sounds used on button clicks
and this seemed to solve the problem... :)
