Default CD label design in .pdf or .ai format to publisher?

    HI,

We are doing some CD label design with Illustrator. I noticed that we
can print the .ai file to .pdf and greatly reduced the file size (from
22M to 1.5M.) As I know, .pdf is also vertor based so quality will
remain the same for vector based graphics.

So it is good enough to send just the pdf files to print shop? This
will greatly reduce our efforts as we can now just email them the
    files.

I have posted this in acrobat forum but got no response. So post here again.

    Eric.

yes....that is exactly what it was designed for....portable document file
Only problem I have ever had is with fonts having restrictions...just avoid
    those fonts.
