    Default CD-ROM Catalog

I am new to Director. I just got a copy of Director 8 and I am playing
    around.

I have a client who needs a catalog of his products on a CD ROM. I was told
that Director is the right program for this. I looked at Director and it
looks like there is a big learning curve.

Is there an existing application with a CD-ROM product catalog availible
with source code. This will allow me to get an idea on how to do this and
also I can use it as a starting point.

I am thinking of doing it in HTML because I know web design and can get it
done quickly. The client needs it developed asap.

    Thank you

    Ira

Director is great for thigs like that...

Learning Director and Lingo is way (a lot) easier than learning some other
programming language like Visual Basic or C... however if u want to start
developing a product catalog knowing not much about Director it´ll be hard.
There are no pre built scripts or gadgets for u to assemble a catalogue. You
can certainly find many resources in macromedia.com, director-online.com and
many other lingo adn director development sites.

You will need to get the basic knowledge on how Director works and Lingo´s
capabilities but beleive me... you´ll be programming Lingo in no time...
