CF 7.0.1 updater not installing in windows
I downloaded the coldfusion 7.0.1 updater for windows. When I clicked on the
setup file a dialog box was visable for a split second before it went away.
Now my question is why is this happening. If I need to shutdown the cold
fusion server before I install the updater please let me know how to do that.
Thanks for the help

Re: CF 7.0.1 updater not installing in windows
I had a similar problem. I had downloaded and installed the update on two
servers, then on the third server the installer would appear to open up but
then disappear. I think it has something to do with a bad install file
download.
I copied the installer from one of my other servers and it ran fine. I'd
suggest you try downloading it to a desktop and then moving it to the server to
execute.

Re: CF 7.0.1 updater not installing in windows
I had an issue installing Corda Popchart on Windows 2003 SP1. Because of the
DEP feature, you have to specificly allow some executables to run
(windows-key+pause to get to system screen --> Advanced Tab --> Performance
options --> Data Execution Prevention). Who knows, that might be it...

Re: CF 7.0.1 updater not installing in windows
If you're trying to update your server remotely using PCAnywhere (10.5 in my
case) then you'll encounter the problem you are having. If this is what you're
doing you'll need to be on the machine directly, stop the PCAnywhere host
process and then try the update. This gave me the biggest headache for a while
with a 6.x update until I figured it out. I know 7.0.1 updater has the same
issue because I just encountered it. Good thing I remembered this :) I'm
surprised Macromedia hasn't fixed this problem with the 7.0.1 updater.
Good luck!
