CF Installation and Win XP
I am new to ColdFusion and have been trying to install the trial version with a
standalone localhost server.
I am running Windows XP Pro and attempting to install CF version 7.0.1 as a
?developer? installation. I have the Windows Security Features disabled on my
system and use instead McAfee Security Suite. I have disabled the firewall and
privacy features of the McAfee prior to installation.
After the install completes normally, the browser gives the error message that
?The connection was refused when attempting to contact localhost:8500.?
I have gone into the Windows System Administrator and attempted to startup the
CF Application Server and get an error message there as well indicating that it
cannot start the service (it does indicate to refer to ?error code 2?).
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have searched the message boards for
2 days now, and have not found a solution.
