CF MX7 and MySQL 5
Hey,
I just reinstalled ColdFusion (Developer Edition) and I had to reinstall the
mysql-connector-java-3.1.12-bin.jar file into the WEB-INF\lib directory for
added connectivity with MySQL 5. Problem is, I can't find that directory
anymore...
I am running Windows 2003 Server with IIS 6. I searched for the WEB-INF
directory, but the handfull that came up didn't look right. I copied the file
to all possible WEB-INF\lib directories that existed, but then came to another
problem. Nothing happened.
I went to restart the service, but I don't know what the service is called. I
have about 5 services running that have something to do with ColdFusion, but I
don't know which one to restart. I tried restarting them all, then restarting
IIS, but still no connectivity with IIS. Actually, I think tried restarting the
server too, and that didn't fix it either.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
David

Re: CF MX7 and MySQL 5
Hi,
I think you have installed coldfusion as a multi server install. WEB-INF/lib
will be in c;/jrun4/servers/cfusion/cfusion-ear/cfusion war directory. web.xml
will be in WEB-INF directory.
Hope this helps.
Swathi.

Re: CF MX7 and MySQL 5
Yes, it's installed as Multi-Server. Though I thought this was how I had it set
up before...
To be honest, I don't know what to do with the web.xml file. Since I can't
seem to find anything, can I get a link or a few simple steps on how to add the
MySQL 5 datasource? Sorry to be a bother... I know it probably is very simple,
I'm just overlooking it.
Thanks,
David

Re: CF MX7 and MySQL 5
Hi,
Please follow the article below to configure the datasource.
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19170
cf_web_root/WEB-INF/lib will be
C:/jrun4/servers/cfusion/cfusion-ear/cfusion-war/WEB-INF/lib.
Thanks.
Swathi.

Re: CF MX7 and MySQL 5
Thank you very much, it's working again.
Take my advice: don't install RoboEngine on a machine running IIS 6...
Again, thanks.

Re: CF MX7 and MySQL 5
The mentioned instructions do not appear to work with MX 6.1.
I've tried both mysql connectors 3.1.9, 3.1.10, and 3.1.12, none of them work
for me. I'm getting by with an extremely unstable 3.20-alpha you can't even
find anymore.
Is there a way to get 3.1.10+ working with MX 6.1?
The Error I'm getting is something about unable to initialize Log4JLogger
