Default CF Usage License - Desktop and Laptop

Hi - I primarily code on my desktop computer. I have, however, a laptop that
runs on XPPro, and would like to use it when I'm on trips. Obviously, I'd be
using one computer or the other and not both at the same time.

Can I do this with one copy of CF8 or do I need two?

At the moment, I'm getting up to speed on the latest tags and Flash
implementation and, without breaking the bank, would like to study when I'm on
a plane or in a hotel.

I assume you mean CF7 as there is no CF8, but this is no problem. To develop on
you machine all you need is the free developer edition of CF from the
Macromedia Website. It has all the functionality of CF7 Enterprise, except it
is limited to 2 external IP addresses.

Thus it is perfect for development as you are generally only going to be
looking at it yourself as you work on it.

You will have to set up all your DSNs and mappings etc. on both, but you can
create a .car file to make this less of a headache.

Just to clarify, do you mean CF 7 or something like Dreamweaver 8 (which
just came out)? Since all you're doing is development with CF (from
what I can tell) you can install the developer edition of CF on as many
    machines as you want.

If you're talking about Dreamweaver 8 or Studio 8, unless they changed
their licensing with the new release, you are allowed to install this
software on two machines that are both owned by and used by only you.
This allows for the situation you describe where you have a desktop and
a laptop computer but the two are never used simultaneously.
