CF5: Oracle 8i DS's work fine, but 9i DS's don't
Hey folks. I'm having a problem. I have a CF5 box that's using an ODBC
datasource to connect to an Oracle 8i database on a remote server. I just
installed the Oracle 9i client on the CF5 box along with an Oracle 9i database
on a remote server, and I set up an ODBC datasource in Windows and then told
ColdFusion 5 about it , just like I did successfully for 8i. However, when I
click the button to test the new 9i datasource, the test fails.
I've tried rebooting the box, Googling the problem, etc. Anyone have any
suggestions? Is there some rule that you can't have the 8i and 9i clients
installed on the CF5 box at the same time? I need to have both because I'm in
a database transition period.
Remember, this is CF5, not CFMX. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
