CFCONTENT & firefox - Coldfusion - Advanced Techniques

Hi All, I use CFCONTENT/CFHEADER as a means to secure files for download. IE works well; firefox tosses up an addition window (except if it's something that can be displayed in the browser). Any ideas to kill the second window if it's not needed? tia <CFHEADER name="Content-Disposition" value="inline;filename=#varShortFile#"> <CFCONTENT TYPE="#varType#" FILE="#UploadDir#/#fileName#" RESET="YES"> varShortFile = firename varType = type, like application/pdf...

You mean the download window? That's a client side thing.

If you want a PDF file to open directly, you need to
1: Ensure the client PC has the Acrobat Reader plugin installed.
2: Ensure that the client has set their browser to always open PDFs.

Both of which are client settings, so if this is for something like a local
intranet then you can probably get them changed, but if it's a regular web site
    then it's beyond your control.

That's what I was thinking -- thanks for the confirmation.
