CFHTTP - Connection Failure

I need some help on a problem that I am having. I have done some very basic
ColdFusion development in the past. I am on a new job now and the company has a
website that connects to a vendor website and transmits some Hash data via
CFHTTP. The connection works fine with the current vendor, however we are in
the process of changing vendor's and the original person that wrote the code
for us is no longer here. I was under the impression that all I would need to
do is change the URL information to point to the new vendor, however, that's
when I get the "Connection Failure".

What is causing the problem? Is in something on the new vendor's side or am I
not making the change correctly?

It might be a firewall issue at the other end.
