Shouldn't it be something like this: <cfmail to='to@address.com'
from='nowhere@mymail.com' type='html' ...> <table> <cfoutput
query='whatever'><tr><td>#name#</td><td>#test#</td><td>#address#</td><td>#number

Default cfmail

Hi all,

I tried using cfmail feature to sent email.
However i could only receive email via outlook express. When i try to sent to
gmail, yahoo or hotmail account.
I could not receive the file.

My cf code is as follow
<cfmail from="user@mydomain.com" to="user@gmail.com" subject="Testing"
server="username@mydomain.com:password@mail.mydoma in.com">
my description
</cfmail>

<cfmail from="user@gmail.com" to="user@mydomain.com" subject="Testing"
server="username@mydomain.com:password@mail.mydoma in.com">
my description
</cfmail>

In the C:\CFusionMX\logs\mail.log, i found
"Error","scheduler-0","07/05/05","19:35:57",,"Sending failed; nested
exception is: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses; nested
exception is: javax.mail.SendFailedException: 551 Command RCPT User not local
and relaying not permitted from you (xxx.xx.xxx.xxx) "

I am able to use outlook express to sent out mail to gmail, yahoo and hotmail
account, but when using cfmail. I can't.

Does anyone have any idea on how to tackle this problems.

Any form of help is very much appreciated,

Thank you.

With Regards

The server attribute is not correct.

server="username@mydomain.comassword@mail.mydomain .com">

Normally you just put in the server name itself, such as:

server ="mail.mydomain.com"

Hi Abinidi,

Thanx for your reply.

I tried numerous method in trying to solve the problem

I did try to use server attribute:
server = "mail.mydomain.com"
but still the same problem exist.

I even try to ping the smtp.mydomain.com and use the ipaddress
server = "xxx.xx.xxx.xx"

or use the
server = "127.0.0.1"

but my effort still gone to waste.

I read from the web, actually
server="username@mydomain.com: password@mail.mydomain.com
is used when authentication is required.

I suspect the main problem lies on
"551 Command RCPT User not local and relaying not permitted from you"
which i had no idea how to resolve.

I find it weird how come i could sent email out to gmail using outlook, but i
cant do the same in cfmail.
yet i am able to receive mail when posting to username@mydomain.com but not
when to username@gmail.com

This problem is really driving me nuts.

Please help. Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone,

Found out that after changing the server attribute to
server="127.0.0.1" it could work already.

Thank you for those whom reply to my query.
