CFMX 7 XMPP Gateway Questions
I am very interested in the new support for event gateways in CFMX 7, in
particular the XMPP gateway. I have read all the LiveDocs on these new
features and am hoping that I am incorrect in my findings. I would like to
build a coldfusion backend to make a web based messaging client. It would be
used by a dynamic user base of visitors logging onto their respective accounts,
i.e. jabber.org accounts, etc? They would be able to view their buddy rosters
and send and receive messages accordingly. However, what I am finding is that
the only account to have the functionality is the one registered in the config
file in the gateway instance. Is there no way to have a dynamic user base? If
this is this case, I feel that is a severe limitation. It would be impossible
to create a new instance on the server for every user wanting to send instant
messages.
