    Default CFOBJECT error

    This error is occurring in CF4.5. I believe this is the first version that
    CFOBJECT was implemented, but don't know the extent of the error occurring:
    ==================================
    COM error 0x800401F3. Invalid class string

    The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of
    (CFOBJECT), occupying document position (15:5) to (19:19).

    Error trying to create object specified in the tag.
    UNKNOWN
    =================================================
    Here is the tag:

    <CFOBJECT
    ACTION="CONNECT"
    CLASS="LpiCom_6_0.LinkPointTxn"
    NAME="LPI_CFX_COM"
    TYPE="COM">

    Default Re: CFOBJECT error

    Hello,

    The "Invalid class string" error usually means that the COM object is not
    registered or does not exist. Basically the object is not available for
    ColdFusion to connect to it. You may want to use Microsoft's OLE/COM Object
    Viewer to inspect the object. As a side note CF 4.5 is no longer supported and
    it's COM implementation was shaky at best. You may want to try using CFMX 6.1
    Udater 1 or CFMX 7, both of which have robust COM implementations.

    Regards,

    David.
