CFQuery issue - Coldfusion - Getting Started

I have a form where users enter the ID number of a course they would like to go to. I have a table in an Access database that lists the courses and their ID numbers. Can I use the ID number submitted on the form to output details onto the action page about the course the course. The code I am currently attempting to use is as follows: <cfoutput> Thank you for completing the registration form #reg_title# #lastName#.     Default CFQuery issue

    I have a form where users enter the ID number of a course they would like to go
    to. I have a table in an Access database that lists the courses and their ID
    numbers. Can I use the ID number submitted on the form to output details onto
    the action page about the course the course.
    The code I am currently attempting to use is as follows:
    <cfoutput> Thank you for completing the registration form #reg_title#
    #lastName#. The following details have been recorded and we will contact
    shortly with further details about the course.<br/><br/>
    Name: #reg_title# #firstName# #lastName#<br/>
    Course: #ref_no#<br/>
    <cfquery name="getCourse" datasource="innovation_exchange">
    SELECT ref_no, course_description, course_date
    FROM tblcourse_description
    WHERE course_description = #ref_no#
    </cfquery>
    Course details: <cfoutput query="getCourse">course_description</cfoutput>

    Clearly I am in need of your guidance!

    All you seem to be missing are the octothorps in your cfoutput at the very end.
