Change rectangle border size?

Windows XP Pro SP1 / Illustrator 9.0 Academic

I'm pretty new to Illustrator, and I am learning how to use it.

I have created a rectangle using the Rectangle Tool, but I need to make the border a specific size (at least). My printing service has requested this.

How can I do this?

I have been searching the forums and the web for a few hours with nary a prospect for an answer. Please help!

Tim,

I suppose you mean the Stroke surrounding the Fill. Just choose Stroke instead of Fill in the bottom of the tools palette (left side of screen, the framelike thing partly covered by the square thing), choose Color just below it, and change the weight in the Stroke palette (right side of screen).

If you want round corners, choose Round Join in the same palette.

While you are at it you may change its colour with the Color palette.
