even after I hit play the background is still grey, I mean my movie is a certain size, and then the canvas behind the movie is grey, how do I change that?

No, the background in dreamweaver is already set to be white, behind my flash movie there is a big gray box, I think its the canvas that the movie is playing on in flash, how do I change that to be white?

what? I'm not sure what you mean. Could you possibly provide a screenshot? You could post it if u have webspace, or ZIP it and directly attach it to these forums.
Question: do the W and H parameters match the Flash movie? is the Scale setting set to Default(Show All)? If the numbers in the W and H params are bold, it means they don't match the Flash movie's W and H. You should make it match.

Here is the attachment in a winzip file of my flash document, all that's showing up when I put the insert the movie in dreamweaver is the book which is rectangular in shape and then another box around that which is gray, how do I get the gray to be white?
