Changing font size in a pdf document

I am trying to fill out a pdf. document but I cannot figure out how to change the size of the font so that I can type in all the requested information in the appropriate boxes on the form.

What program, including version, are you using to fill the form?

Adobe Acrobat 6.0 Standard. I am also using a Mac Power PC G5 running OS X 10.4.8

I am trying to complete a government document and initially, although I could download the document I could not enter any text on it but I eventually figured out to do it by doing a few work arounds.

Now I am trying to reduce the size of the text I am entering so that I can respond fully to the requests for information. I cannot figure how to do it.

Did the form have fillable fields? If not, what were the "workarounds"?

Depending on what they were, you could get a different answer.

Yes, the document did have fillable fields but initially I could not fill them, which is the first time I have encountered this problem in online documents that I have downloaded and subsequently completed. I can't recall the steps I used to begin filling in the fields but I am quite willing to begin all over again if this allows me to reduce the font size of my entries.
