Changing License
I have been running a 30 day trial of CF7 and have purchased an upgrade license
to replace the 30 day trial. I purchased the upgrade because I have continued
to use the upgrades to move us from 4.5 up through 6. However, When I go into
the Admin panel and put the Serial number that I received from Adobe in, it is
seen as invalid. Is there another way to update the serial #? I know that
when you install an upgrade both the serial number from the older version is
requested and then the new serial #. Any ideas would be very helpful - I
really do not want to purchase a complete license. Thanks!
Cheers

license.properties file in the cfusion/bin folder. Make sure you shut
down CF and have a backup before you do that though.

Thanks for the response - however I do not follow the logic of changing the
previous SN if that is the one that is correct. Since I now have the upgrade
for CFMX7 wouldn't I need that to go into the SN for the new license? Thanks!

problem correctly, you can enter the new one through the normal
interface, but not the old one.

Re: Changing License
Jochem,
Thanks again! Let me try to detail this a bit more. I have a SN currently in
place for the CF server. The file you informed me about has the SN for the old
version in it as well. I have attempted to place the Upgrade SN in the file
that license file you mentioned. This did not work. I have also tried to do
it through the CF Admin pages. This did not take either. Short of having to
remove and reinstall the upgrade, I really wish I could type this upgrade
license number in somewhere and get it to work. Thought your license file was
going to do the trick but it looks like it needs the 20 character input not the
10 character one. I don't know if this sheds any light on my situation but
thought it was worth a shot. THanks again!
Cheers
