Default changing links colors - middle of page

I need to use two different colors for my links (link, vlink and alink) on one page. I can change the colors but I need to maintain two different colors on one html page.

example: My menu background is black so my link color white.
Lower on the same page, my background us a light color and the white links are very hard to see. I want to change the colors of those links without effecting the color of the first links.

    Thanks
