Changing Page Size within Acrobat.
I have a PDF file that was sent to me at 7.99" x 10.49". All I want to do is resize the page to 8" x 10.5" so I can publish it in our magazine. There must be a simple way to do this, but I can't find it anywhere.
I can't open the file in another program because I don't have the fonts. What I have done in the past is create a new 8" x 10.5" PDF file in Illustrator, open it in Acrobat, copy all the information from the original file (using the TouchUp Object tool), then paste it into the newly created file, aligning everything by eye. This seems insanely difficult to me.
Is there a "Page Size" feature that I am simply missing? Deadline looms, I need help.

Re: Changing Page Size within Acrobat.
I HOPE there is a solution for this as well. I could use this feature! However, since a deadline looms....
You could import the PDF into InDesign, resize, and export as PDF. OR, if you do not have InDesign, you can save the PDF as an EPS from Acrobat, resize in Quark (or whatever) and export as a PDF. Two ideas for you!

Re: Changing Page Size within Acrobat.
Is that 1/100 of an inch really a problem?
Don't take this the wrong way, as I do not mean to sound snarky. I'm honestly curious because I've noticed a lot of times when I create a PDF file, I'll get final sizes off by about that amount. I've always just ignored it and haven't had any problems.
When you say publish in your magazine, how do you need to use the file? Are you planning to embed it into an existing layout?

Re: Changing Page Size within Acrobat.
It sounds like when the file was "cropped" that it was cropped a little too much. If that is the case, you can "un-crop" and then "re-crop" to the correct size.... just an idea. I have received files from agencies before and they are off just a little. When I look under Document_Crop Pages and choose "set to zero", I can then re-crop the page.

Re: Changing Page Size within Acrobat.
Page manipulation is typically done from the authoring application or
via a plug-in such as Enfocus Pitstop - http://www.enfocus.com ...
Some people do try and print to PDF from their original PDF with scaling
options - but this is not recommended for various reasons ...
Cropping only changes the crop-box, and does not affect the media size
whatsoever.
