Changing the names of related files ?
Is there a method of changing file names and keeping the relationships,
external scripts etc. intact ?
I would like to set up a remote version of my solution (6files) on a laptop
using a different dataset. The idea of having different files floating
around the office with the same name scares me.
Also, I am looking for ways of synchronizing data added from a remote
location. I can't seem to find any information about synchronizing data or
samples of export/import scripts. If you know of any worthwhile info on the
subject, please point me to it.
Thanks
Carl

with FileMaker Developer. It is as simple as renaming the files through
the tool. This won't guarantee against the loss of hair, but it at
least it won't contribute to it.
Otherwise, you will find yourself going through every script, every
value list and every relationship to reset to the new names. This is
do-able, but may result in missed links and contribute to problems down
the road.
