Character Palette Not Opening!!!! Help!

My character palette is not opening and we dont know what to do to fix this. It is visible, a small sliver of it, but nothing works on opening.

Please help us if you can.

Throw away the InDesign preferences. The easiest way: IMMEDIATELY after launching InDesign, hold down four keys—Cmd + Option + Shift + Ctrl (within 1/2 second). The choose to delete preferences.

Or go to "workspace" and then click 'default' which will change your workspace back to Adobe's default.

As a note-once you have your palettes/workspace set up as you like, go to "window" and save your workspace

We have had the same problem as you at my company, and I personally think it's too frequent to be a bad preference. We've "trashed" the preferences but it still rears its ugly head. It doesn't happen a lot, but just when it's deadline time :(
