Character Palette weirdness

Recently, the Character Palette has stopped displaying in my default
account under 10.2.6. It seems to work perfectly in all other accounts,
both admin and regular user, but in the one account it simply does not
appear. Examination of the CrashReporter log reveals that when the
window is supposedly showing, the CharPaletteServer app is crashing
repeatedly (as frequently as every 5 - 10 seconds). Here's an excerpt
from a recent log; I'd be truly grateful for any pointers as to what may
be causing this behaviour! There are no fonts in this account's
~/Library/Fonts folder, though I did install a couple there and
subsequently remove them. Cheers, DG

Delete the character palette prefs for that user. m.
