Check boxes uncheck on submit

On a simple form with values for each check box totalling when a submit button
is pressed

I need the check boxes to remain in the same state when the submit button is
pressed, so that changes can be made and a new total generated with a re-press
of the submit button.

How do I make the check boxes 'stick' rather than clear back to their default
unchecked state?

Any ideas?

No worries - I found the answer myself - change the submit button to something else!
