check for badblocks in hd - FreeBSD

    I read the newfs man page but I couldn't find anything related to bad
    block checking. Is there a tool for doing it?

    Also if you are using 5.x, see the port
    /usr/ports/sysutils/smartmontools/

    It can give you all sorts of info about your hard drive
