have you been able to use checkin/checkout on that host before??
as a guess- it's possible for some servers to be setup to auto-convert
filenames to lowercase on upload. so the lock file uploaded as myfile.LCK
would be changed to myfile.lck
when looking at the remote site with some other ftp client- what are the
lockfile filenames? the extension of them? upper or lowercase??
Also- you can open the FTP log window of dw- under the Site menu.
It may have more details about what the problem was.
