Check the record in Database using ASP.NET
Dear All,
Dreamweaver user who want to develop a site using ASP.NET have got critical
time. In Server behavious we doesn't have User Authentication behavior so we
need some programmer to do that.
Is in room any one know programming ASP.NET VB, I am developing a site using
the ASP.NET VB server model, I want to insert a new record in to the database,
for this I used Insert Record Form whcihc is working perfectly, all problems
starting here, before insert the record into database I want to check the
database table with my DATE field, user can't enter more than one record with
single date. I want to check server side the date entering is already exists in
the table or not.
If date is duplicating already available...user goes to error page, if date is
not exists in the database table insert the record into databse.
I am checking for new server behaviors over WWW, almost 3days gone but no
solution found, can some body help me in this issue.
thanks in advance.

This would be more cost effective than paying someone to implement
authentication.

Your problem with only inserting if the user has not already inserted that
date is better solved with hand coding real code, DW's ASP.NET behaviours
are no use beyond displaying simple data or performing very simple
insert/update commands, the time you will waste trying to get DW to do this
would be better spent learning how to use ADO.NET.
