Chicago Webs: Dropped by Google? - Macromedia Dreamweaver

It seems that google has totally dropped my site. I had #8 placement on one search phrase and was # 2 on another. This placement has been steady for about 3 months. If google was attempting to crawl my site, could a few days of down time have caused this to occur? I am not sure if I need to reoptimize my pages or wait and pray that next month my placement will return. Any thoughts? Pix...

How DO you get your sites on Google? I've registered a site with them, but
it never appeared. I tried Site Meter (free), and still it doesn't appear.
Is there something about the site itself, except that the design is pretty
    primitive? It's http://www.yensstudio.com.

The fastest way may be to get it linked from an already-spidered page.
Is there a professional organization related to the site? How about a
    chamber of commerce? Friend?

    Hi Tom,

*How DO you get your sites on Google?

Go to DMOZ and submit the site to the correct category listing.

    http://dmoz.org/Arts/Visual_Arts/Painting/Painters/
    OR
    http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Visual_Arts/Painting/Artists/

Careful where and what you want to be listed as ALL the search engines will
    just copy what is listed.

*Is there something about the site itself,
*except that the design is pretty
    *primitive? It's http://www.yensstudio.com.

Google grabs the content off the page that it can read. If you have text in
images it won't be able to read it.
Make sure that you have info as text on the pages that you would want to be
    found with in search engines.
You don't have the artist's name (as text) on the index page.

Also, set up a portfolio(free) at http://wwar.com/ and link back to the
site. Link to other related sites.

    Good luck,
    SES

    It is listed in Google

    http://216.239.39.104/search?q=cache:pj9AAXF5ox4J:www.yensstudio.com/+&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

but there are also a zillion art sites so I think it's kind of lost in the
    shuffle.
