Choosing typeface for client
Hi,
I'm relatively new to the game, so please bear with.
How do experienced designers get around using typefaces for concept designs without commiting to having to pay for the font in the first instance ? What if the client doesn't like it ? I want to show my client 6 different concepts wihtoutt having to shell out for 6 fonts !!
Is it possible to create an outline path from a bitmap image ?
Thanks a lot for any advice.
Best regards,
Mac

That's a good question.
In the end, your investment in fonts is really no different than your investment in the professional software.
What if you show a concept that could only be done with the latest version of a program, you've paid for the upgrade, and the client doesn't like it. Have you wasted your money?
Some questions that come to my mind: Are the differences among your concepts that font-dependent? Is your client specifically asking you to find some new, exciting font?
Is it possible to create an outline path from a bitmap image?
It can be done, but not easily.

One thing that you certainly shouldn't do because it would be naughty, is audition the font using the word or company name you want at What the Font <http://www.whatthefont.com> and then screen capture it and use the image in your thumbnails. I don't think you're allowed to do that so don't ok. :)
