Classic won't start. Baffled. - Mac Applications & Software

Strange problem with my G3 beige ... had 10.1 and 9.1 and it was fine, Classic included, and for a while I only ran 9. Decided to seriously get into X and now I find that I can't start Classic. I can switch to 9 and boot OK, but when I try to run Classic it tells me "You do not have sufficient permissions to run Classic from /System/Library/CoreServices. Please correct permissions and restart Classic." As Superman once said, "Wha-a?" Help!! TIA ;B Eric Bear Albrecht ... e mail me if you like, at "newsposter" at the following domain in ...

That capability wasn't included in Disk Utility prior to OS X 10.2, so
he can't do it with his 10.1. However, he can update to 10.1.5 for free
and download the Repair Privileges Utility from Apple:

One of the few times that's actually probably the right answer!

    Not. That's a 10.2 thing.

Further discussion on further strangeness in the other thread ...

    Thanx.

I didn't. The symptoms do not match. I'm the only user and I'm admin.
But I'm having a second look at it anyway.

Well, let's put it this way: Repairing permissions is never a _bad_
thing, so even if it doesn't fix this particular problem, you're still
better off for having done it, and it takes very little effort.

I agree with that and I've done it already.
