    Default Classic wont start

I get a "Resource Update Error" when I try starting the Classic
Environment that says "An error was encountered while attempting to
update your system folder with Classic-specific resources."

I'm stuck. I can't seem to find many people that have had the same
problem, and the few tips I have found have so far not worked.

I have all the latest updates on my system. I tried using Pacifist to
extract the data out of the install packages, but I'm not sure where
    to start.

I'm also afraid of running the System Restore because I'm not sure how
drastic of a "restore" it will do, or what impact on my apps it will
have. It doesn't seem to have a "custom" mode that lets you pick and
choose what you want restored, which is unfortunate.

Thanks in advance for any help... -Josh

Before you spend a lot of time reinstalling, you might want to run Disk
Warrior. Maybe the directory is so messed up that the correct path for
    the new files got lost.
